Welcome to the online consultation forum for the Law Commission's Tenth Programme of Law Reform.
About
This online forum is for people to participate in a discussion on law reform.
Which areas of the law do you think the Law Commission should consider? (Mon 5 Feb – Fri 30 Mar 2007)
When formulating the next programme we will wish to identify projects which provide real public benefit.
Please describe as clearly as possible the area of the law you think needs reforming, and describe the problems caused by the present law. This should include a brief assessment of the impact it has in terms of the numbers of people disadvantaged, or on whom the law operates unfairly etc, and, if they can be quantified, the costs which might be saved by reform. This will help us assess the extent to which the law is unsatisfactory, whether it is a suitable project for us to undertake and whether we have the resources to do so.
For more details on contributing to the discussion, see our selection criteria [PDF, 22kb]
The Law Commission was established to keep the law of England and Wales under review with a view to its systematic development and reform. Our aim is to achieve more accessible, intelligible and modern law.
‘Digital Dialogues’ pilot
This online forum is being run within the Department for Constitutional Affairs ‘Digital Dialogues’ pilot.
The pilot will explore the potential of information and communication technology to support central government communications and consultations. Support and evaluation is being provided by the Hansard Society, an independent, non-partisan charity.
More information about the Hansard Society and its work is available at www.hansardsociety.org.uk.
